DIY Balloon Garland
It was my oldest girls' birthday last month, I still can't believe how fast she's growing! I posted a photo on my instagram account (www.lnstagram.com/little_r_photography) of her Artist Theme birthday party. My girl LOVES to paint so when she chose this theme, it was no big surprise to me that she did. We love looking through pintrest for inspiration and one thing I stumbled upon was a balloon garland! I loved the idea of it and got to researching on how to make my own right away.
I searched through various tutorials and decided the best and easiest way for me was using the following materials:
- Balloon tape (I ordered mine from Amazon)
- Mix of 12 inch latex balloons and 5 inch latex balloons
- Balloon Pump ( I found mine at Target)
- Glue dots
- Command strips or nails or staple gun for the wall
The best way to begin is by hanging your balloon tape to the wall in the shape you'd like your garland to be. You can use command strips, nails or a staple gun to attach it to the wall. I already had a screw in my wall so I attached the tape to it and went straight across. I had my little helper, Rose, pump up the 12 inch balloons in different sizes and I tied them and inserted them into the Balloon Tape on opposite sides every two holes down. I started with the large balloons then added the mediums. Finally, we filled in all the gaps with the 5 inch balloons using the glue dots.
At this point you should have a super fun balloon garland ready to wow your guests and friends! You can also "dress it up" by adding something that resonates with your party theme. We added light paint brushes to ours to tie in with the painting theme.
The best part of DIY Balloon Garland? You get to enjoy it for weeks to come! Ours was up for 2 weeks in the same condition as when we first made it!
